Les Roches

Les Roches was built just at the turn of the 1900s and it was commissioned by a Parisian judge. Mr Perrot built the house for his mistress and the face of the mistress can be found on the hand-painted ceiling panels.

Our guests are very welcome to use our salon, library and terrace to read the daily newspapers, peruse magazines, read a book and enjoy some of our wine. During the fall and winter periods the salon and library are even cosier as we burn wood in the fireplaces.

The salon is very bright as it features a very large window with three French doors leading out to the terrace. Here in the salon you find a copy of the daily International Herald Tribune and the weekend editions of Le Figaro as well as a selection of magazines. The salon is a great place to meet and mingle with your fellow guests.

In our library, we have a television with hundreds of channels in various languages where you can catch up on the latest news, watch your favourite sports events or enjoy a movie. We also have a selection of books for your enjoyment (many of the paper-back books have been left from our guests!). You will find complimentary maps and brochures on the various tourist attractions in Burgundy and contact details for some of our favourite vineyards.

The sun-filled terrace is very popular in the afternoons where many of our guests unwind with a drink after a day exploring Burgundy and visiting vineyards. During the summer months, we serve breakfast on the terrace and we normally serve our four-course dinners outside.

The nearest golf course is Golf du Château de Chailly and is only a 15 minute drive from Les Roches. Golf du Château de Chailly is one of the top three golf courses in the area and will challenge your long game as well as your approach shots (as nearly all the greens are raised and well protected by bunkers and water so your club selection is critical!). Le Golf Dijon, Golf de Château d'Avoise and Domaine du Roncemay are parkland golf courses and the fairways are lined with mature trees. The most challenging golf course is the front nine at Le Golf Dijon as the fairways are very narrow and it is wise to leave the driver in the bag! Le Golf Dijon has the best greens! Golf de Beaune is quite challenging with its narrow fairways and long par threes. The golf course is ideally located if you would like to visit vineyards and taste some wines after your round of golf!

We offer home-cooked dinners twice per week, Thursdays and Saturdays, using regional and seasonal ingredients and we recommend matching Burgundy wines for each course. Many of our recipes are based on traditional Burgundy recipes which we have adopted to modern tastes. The dinner experience begins at 19h30 with an aperitif in the salon, set four-course meal in the candlelit dining room or terrace and ends with a coffee or tea in the library. The cost is €32 per person. The dinners need to be booked in advance. On Mondays and Fridays, we offer a Brasserie-style dinner where you will have a choice of starters, main courses and desserts. On the other evenings, Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, we offer cold-cut dinners consisting of a selection of cold cuts, selection of cheeses, salad and fresh bread. The cost is €19 per person.
